Meet the founder

Hi, I'm Tumbi.
I'm a mum of two and a GP trainee. I created MOWÁLÁTI because I wanted my children—and others growing up away from Africa—to experience the languages, stories and traditions that shaped their families.
When I couldn't find beautiful, high-quality bilingual books that reflected families like ours, I decided to create them.
My hope is that every MOWÁLÁTI book helps children grow up connected to their language, culture and heritage—one story at a time.
